How can the weekends destroy our good holistic nutritional habits? Why do we allow it? and how can we make changes to reach our goals of managing our healthy body weight?

Does the weekend really destroy our nutrition plan? How did we get this invitation that the weekend is here, and we can eat, drink and be merry! we deserve it, right?

No calories, care of toxins, fitness or sleep on the weekend. I fall hard every weekend and I always say that I would be skinny if weekends didn’t come. I do sometimes get my nature walks in with my husband, but rarely do I go to yoga, fitness, and practice my daily rituals. I am just too busy doing the weekend stuff! You hear me!

We spend so much time during the week on a schedule, weight managing, feeling deprived in so many ways and then Friday shows up and we are all for opening that bottle of wine, gosling a beer down and eating takeout, wings, nachos and sugary drinks. We never stop to think of all our hard work and emotional moments of the four days prior. The way my weekends are going lately we are eating more calories in three days then we do in four days and this is the weight gain problem.

When the facts are the weekend should be downtime to really relax and have fun, have time to stay on schedule, spend time outdoors getting our vitamin D with family and friends, workouts should come easier and longer, and we should have no time or want to be slowed down with alcohol. As I get older I hate losing a day feeling crappy! I am the happiest I have ever been, and I want to enjoy life, be adventurous!

Remember: your body processes alcohol first, leaving carbohydrates and fats to get stored as fat instead of getting used as fuel. Plus, those extra sugary drinks like pop and lattes they are doing the same.

We need to work more on a plan for our weekends, bringing in fun, love, and laughter. This doesn’t mean see how busy we can be. You need that hour or two of not eating and relax doing something you’re passionate about that recharges you, fills up your heart and release stress. Please don’t wait until your children are raised for this to happen. I found mine to be walking by nature and Reiki!

Take a minute to think about yours and your plan of action.

Sunday is meal prep and I love meal prepping so stay tuned!

I wrote pages on this, its such a huge problem for me! but I kept this post short, but I do have some great future tips. Maybe next Friday!

Healthy, Happy and loving ourselves!

Much love,

Angela
